Bus Station Refurbishment Works
On 1st September 2026, the first phase of work will commence to refurbish the bus station in Guildford, paving the way for the delivery of a modern, enhanced transport hub for the town centre. The information provided in our leaflet below outlines the work taking place and the key benefits that these improvements will bring to residents, visitors and public transport users.
Works will start on Commercial Road and the road will be closed to traffic except for buses, emergency services, and construction traffic. These works are required to facilitate the wider bus station refurbishment.
The seven existing bus stands will be closed and removed, and additional temporary bus stands are to be provided on Onslow Street and North Street for the duration of these works. An updated ‘Where To Board Your Bus’ map has been provided below.
This work is estimated to complete by the end of 2026, although this is subject to change.
We would like to thank residents, businesses and bus users for their patience and support while these improvements are delivered. Whilst there will be some temporary disruption during the works, the changes are an important step towards creating a modern, welcoming and efficient bus station for Guildford. We are excited to share the next steps in delivering the finished scheme with the community and look forward to delivering a lasting improvement to the town centre.
